As we look forward to welcoming our students back for another great school year, we have several important updates to share. The most important thing is that Online Registration for the 2026-2027 school year opens today, Tuesday, July 14.
If your family currently attends North Callaway, you can complete registration through the Infinite Campus Parent Portal.
This year, completing registration early is more important than ever. With our new building configuration, we are creating new bus routes and finalizing transportation plans for the start of school. The sooner families complete registration, the more accurately we can build bus routes, assign students, and ensure everything is in place for a smooth first day. Waiting until the last minute may delay transportation assignments and create challenges as we finalize schedules.
We encourage all families to complete registration by Wednesday, August 5.
Students whose registration is completed by August 5 will be eligible for the following incentives:
High School
Receive class schedules during Schedule Pick-Up Day.
Middle School
Be entered into a drawing for North Callaway Middle School swag.
The grade level with the highest registration completion rate will earn Outdoor T-Bird Time.
Elementary School
Receive a postcard from their homeroom teacher during the week of August 10.

Please be aware that our annual Sports & Activities Dead Period runs from June 27 – July 5, 2026. During this time, all school-sponsored practices, workouts, camps, and activities are suspended. Coaches and school staff are not permitted to have contact with student-athletes.
We encourage our Thunderbirds to rest, recharge, and enjoy some well-deserved time with family and friends. We look forward to a great year ahead!
**Additionally, there will be no access to Central Office, NCHS, or NCES as Thunderbird Drive will be closed for re-paving.**

Planning ahead just got easier! We’re excited to share our school vacation calendar for the 2026–2027 school year to help families coordinate travel, childcare, and time together.
Please refer to the attached graphic for all scheduled breaks, including holidays, winter break, spring break, and other planned school vacations.
We encourage families to use this information when planning ahead so students can stay engaged and present throughout the school year.

As a reminder, all Middle School and High School athletes and band members must have a current physical on file at the school before they can participate in practices or games for the 2026-2027 school year.
If you are unsure whether your student’s physical is up to date, please contact the High School nurse and she can verify it for you.

We are thrilled to share that North Callaway R-I School District has hit our district-wide attendance goal of 90% for the 2025-26 school year — finishing at 91.60%! 🙌
This is a big deal. Just a few years ago, our district attendance sat at 83.8%. To see that number climb year after year is a testament to our students showing up, our families making attendance a priority, and our staff creating schools worth coming to every day.
Hatton-McCredie: 92.73% ✅
Williamsburg: 94.95% ✅
NCMS: 89.92% — so close! 💪
NCHS: 89.78% — almost there! 💪
District: 91.60% ✅
We are proud of every building and every student who contributed to this milestone. Our middle and high school students came incredibly far this year, and we will keep working together to reach 90% across all buildings next year.

This week, furniture was being delivered and installed across the building. Light poles were installed for the new parking lot, and, most importantly, playground equipment and surfacing began.
We cannot wait to open our doors for the Thunderbird Learning Center portion on July 13 and for students on the first day of school, August 25!

Starting next Tuesday, May 26th, the new student parking lot and the road between the Ag Building and the high school will be prepped for asphalt. During this time, you will not be able to park in the new student lot or drive to the back of the high school until the work is completed.
When you come to the high school beginning Tuesday, please park in the old student gravel lot in front of the Ag Building.
Thank you for your flexibility as this work is completed.
